I have now received at least two reports that when people attempt to apply for Oregon Health Plan (Oregon's no cost insurance for those with lower income) through the federal exchange website, healthcare.gov, that the application does not actually get submitted to the Oregon Health Plan.
It appears as though there is a disconnect between applying for health insurance on the federal website and Oregon Health Plan actually receiving the application, even though the federal exchange website indicates that your application has been submitted to them and that you should wait to hear back from them on the application.
People applying for Oregon Health Plan should do so on their website through their application (found here: http://www.oregonhealthcare.gov/apply-for-medicaid-now.html#online ).
In addition, I have been told that applications submitted online through their website should also be printed so that the application can be re-submitted if necessary. You can also contact Oregon Health Plan directly by phone at (800) 699-9075 for new applications or (800) 273-0557 for existing members.
